Learning & Literacy Center

Welcome!

Serving a large, diverse group of Columbus area children, adolescents and adults, the Tutoring and Clinical Programs at the OSU Literacy & Learning Center offer high quality research-based support for all aspects of learning. We build foundations, enrich, and challenge students from Pre-K to adult learners.  Instruction is individually designed, based on assessments, observations, and consultations with parents and teachers.

OSU School of Teaching and Learning faculty and graduate associates oversee the Tutoring and Clinical Programs. They are experienced teachers and researchers who supervise the assessment and instruction of each student, consult with parents and teachers, and ensure effective teaching and learning. Tutors are OSU upper division and graduate students preparing for various licensures and specialty certificates who receive outstanding training, supervision, and support, and provide a broad array of high quality tutoring at competitive rates.

Tutoring sessions are held year round.  Most of these tutoring sessions occur in the afternoon and evening during autumn, winter, and spring quarters, and throughout the day during summer quarter. Specialty workshops, such as the Columbus Area Writing Project’s Young Author’s Camp are held throughout the year.
