The Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage & Family Therapist Board has announced that the OSU Clinical Mental Health Counseling program has achieved 100% passing of the LPC licensure exam and 100% passing of the LPCC licensure exam in 2007. Second year clinical counseling student, Lauren Bill, co-authored an article in the Journal of Pediatric Psychology. The article is entitled:
“A pilot study of a web-based resource for families of children with cancer.”
Dr. Paul Granello published a book in February, 2009:

Dr. James L. Moore, III & Dr. Colette Dollarhide received a four year, $380,000 grant award from AT&T, announced December 10, 2008. The grant will support Student Success Centers as part of the AT&T High School Success program to combat the nation’s high school dropout crisis.
Four master’s students received grants & funding for their work:

Christine Stier was awarded $500 from the Arlene Walker Red Ribbon Grant for her student supported proposal Student Allies, a diversity group she leads at Metro. Monies will be used to fund a cultural fair. Christine also received $1450 in funding from the Ann Sherry Foundation to support her program “Easthaven Ambassadors.”

David Dagg and Michelle Hunnicutt-Hollenbaugh presented a workshop on Dialectical Behavior Therapy for all interested M.A. students on Saturday, November 15, 2008. The workshop was well-attended and well-received by all who took part in this important learning.
Michelle Hunnicutt-Hollenbaugh organized a Red Cross Training February 28 for students to become Mental Health First Responders. Those who attended and were certified by the Red Cross are:

Congratulations to Professor James L. Moore, III who became a father for the second time in October. Little Sienna Ava Moore joined the Moore family on Monday, October 6, 2008.
Daughter’s Name: Sienna Ava Moore, DOB: 10/6/2008, Birth Weight: 6lbs 11 ounces, Height: 183/4 inches
The National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) presented the 2008 NAGC Early Scholar Award to James L. Moore III, Counselor Education, on Friday, Oct. 31, in Tampa. He also presented a concurrent session presentation, “Early Scholar Award,” on Saturday, Nov. 1, during the 55th annual NAGC Convention.
All new Chi Sigma Iota inductees. Students eligible to be conducted into the Counselor Education honorary, Chi Sigma Iota, will be notified in February. Congratulations to all on this important honor.
Matt Fleming (M.A. ’07) and Paul Granello had their article from the spring 2008 Adultspan journal selected by the Association for Adult Development and Aging as the top journal article of the year. Matt and Paul will be honored at the AADA breakfast at the American Counseling Association in March, 2009. Their article is:

The OSU Counselor Education program was pleased to honor Dr. Anita Young (Ph.D., ‘04) with the Susan Sears Distinguished Alumni Award. Dr. Young received the award at the OSU Counselor Education Program Reception on Thursday, November 6, 2008, at the All Ohio Counselor’s Conference.
