Congratulations and “Kudos” to…

• Nimarta Singh and Kristen Koly, second year school counseling students, who received a $1000 grant from OSCA to aid in the purchase of wireless tablet PCs to help improve academic achievement at Rosemore Middle School.

• Professor Ching Mey See (OSU PhD ‘96)
  Dr. See received the “Susan Sears Distinguished Alumni Award” at the 2009 OSU Counselor Education Reception at the All Ohio Counselor’s Conference on Thursday, November 5, 7:00p.m.

  Counselor Education Team

   

   

• Congratulations to the Counselor Education Team for the Out of the Darkness Suicide Walk
  The OSU Counselor Education team had 26 members and raised more the $1500. Well Done! Overall, there were more than 700 walkers at the event, raising more than $56,000. The event was organized by an alumna from the OSU Counselor Education program, Laura Beach (M.A. ‘05).�

• Congratulations to Dr. Colette Dollarhide who will receive the 2009 Ohio Counseling Association “Research and Writing Award.” Dr. Dollarhide will receive this honor at the Awards Luncheon of the 2009 All Ohio Counselors Conference.
• Congratulations to Dr. Darcy Haag Granello who received another three years of SAMHSA funding for The Ohio State University Campus Suicide Prevention Program. She and 72 partners, both campus and community, created the prevention program for the Columbus and five regional campuses. The total grant is for $300,000, with partners providing in-kind matches of $525,000.
• Congratulations, Dr. Colette Dollarhide!
  Dr. Dollarhide is the new editor of the Journal of Humanistic Counseling, Education, and Development. The journal one of the oldest in the field (published since 1931), is a national, peer-reviewed journal that focuses on research, theory, and practice that informes humanistic counseling and education.

  2009 Camp Atagahi Grief Camp

   

  Well Done! Michelle Hunnicutt-Hollenbaugh, Carrie Landock Petruso, and Lauren Grubbs!
  These three students were clinical volunteers at a Grief Camp for a week this summer. They led grief counseling groups, supervised the camp counselors, and provided support for children as they worked through the grieving process.
